Solution Statement
When choosing materials for this space, many aspects played a big role in the decision process. Considering what this space was going to be used for was the main focus for choosing materials. In order to establish a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere, big and comfortable furniture was picked for the lounge and meeting areas. Nothing too bulky with harsh lines was picked. The design was kept simple, but warm and inviting. The colors were chosen in order to make a professional surrounding, but also appeal to the students that walk in to get help.

How To apply the stain:
o Mix the stain before you begin and while you're staining.
· Apply the stain on a discreet area of wood to test the color.
· Apply stain by brushing or wiping it in the direction of the grain, using smooth, even strokes. Wipe off any excess.
o Avoid unattractive lap marks by applying stain from an unpainted area back into the last wet stain.
o Let dry completely
o Apply a second coat if you want a darker look.
Maintenance:
For general cleaning, first try water and scrub with a soft, non-metallic brush to see if this removes the surface dirt.
For polished concrete floors, buff them when the shine starts to disappear.

Installation:
Because this wood is not going on the floor of the space, the wood is already applied to the furniture and just has to be delivered and placed where it is needed. Most of the desks are already built and the wood will take place of the top surface. The storage units are built 100% out of this wood product. The wood will be placed on top of the custom made desks by placing a wood glue and nails to the desk in order to make a strong desk top. The wood will also be built with nails and wood glue in order to build the custom storage units.
Maintenance:
This wood product is very easy maintenance and can be cleaned with any hardwood cleaner or just
soap and water with a soft brush. Using a wire or stiff brush can cause scratches and dents in the
wood.

This paint was chosen because of the space it will be covering. This paint allows for a very easy cleaning and upkeep. You are able to wash it with just water and soap and it will not hurt the paint or wall. The paint is also stain and fade resistant, so after long periods of time on the wall, the color will still be there.
